Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Hella 135mm H4 Halogen Conversion Headlamp Kit: Enhanced High/Low Beam Performance by Robert Demissie

Great safety investment (get the real deal)

Check the wiring and count to make sure your system can handle the power - most vehicles will need a separate one wiring harness. They shine with excellent light beam control and classic right E-Code headlight lift (for right-hand traffic). Given that 99% of the time you're probably only using low beam (possibly with fog lights), this is a great option if electronic codes are allowed. I have had two sets on two different machines and in the 7+ years that I have owned them I have been very satisfied. Can't say the same about the cheap fakes (which I've also tried) - they're real. If you're trying to save money, a Hella fake high beam is a better idea than going without. I should also note that the glass appears to be of excellent quality/extremely durable as my 7 year old pair (on a car that has driven over 110,000 miles in that time) still looks brand new. (Fitted on a 1980's BMW 5 series - needs relays but no scoop trim) If you really need great front lighting I highly recommend investing in a decent set of fog lights as well. They offer more downward/peripheral lighting to show off those critters at night when you can't turn on your high beams. Again, shift control is key so you don't blind oncoming traffic and get light where you need it. Some sort of safety headlight is a good idea for fog lights and if your headlights are where they can be damaged. Glass and metal constructions always contribute to longevity. Just understand that fog lights are NOT the same as "high beam headlights" - high beam headlights are high beam styles and will blind everyone else on the road. since most work filter. Alignment will be required after installation but is very easy to do on most vehicles. I've never felt the need/need to turn on strong (and illegal everywhere) lightbulbs. Just make sure your wiring harness is in good shape - you won't have a sudden voltage drop with bulbs installed/on - and any decent 9003/H4 will work just fine.

Pros
  • Kits include 2 bulbs, bulbs, silicone dust caps
Cons
  • Almost never
