I was sent a very poor sample for the price.
Definitely not what was in the photo! I was sent a very poor sample for the price. I'd happily take a replacement with larger clusters in exchange for a better view. My sample didn't have large clusters as shown in the picture. I have a very small growth that is barely visible from any internet on the whole piece. Need better shipping protection. When it arrived there were crumbs of small crystals all over the bottom of the box. I would not order here again.
Pros
- Barite often replaces other minerals and can even replace organic materials such as wood, shells and fossils. It sometimes forms tuffaceous hills due to deposits from barium-rich hot springs. It is isomorphic and very similar in shape to the mineral celestite and can partially replace it. Chemical formula: BaSO4; Color: colorless, white, yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, brown, blue, green, gray and black. Hardness: 3 - 3.5; Specific Gravity: 4.3-4.6
