Review on 8 Pack Replacement Steam Mop Pads Compatible For PurSteam ThermaPro 10-In-1 | LINNIW by Michael Langelius

poor attachment/fit

Why did I buy a steamer that doesn't have it's own replacement pads available?! Ugh.There are a BUNCH of different "brands" of pads available to purchase from random sellers on ebay, and I guess you just have to buy and try until you find one that works. What a pain. These ones are just.meh.My biggest gripe is these particular pads have pretty sad hook & loop tape (aka "Velcro" but this is the worst imitation of Velcro) so they are difficult to attach (they don't stick!). They are also too small so they don't extend all the way to the edge of the plastic steamer head, which means the plastic is what is scraping up against your baseboards, appliances and cabinets, as opposed to microfiber fabric. They are just.too.small. However, so are the originals.Additionally, the shape of the steamer head is weird in that there's no way to get into corners, and since these pads don't extend all the way to the edge of the steamer (especially after washing, even if you hand wash and dry), there's no extra fabric to scrunch into the corner. So your corners don't get wiped. Design flaw of the steamer I guess, but a different pad might work better.Regarding washing, I pre-washed these 3 times as recommended, and hung them to dry. I have used one of the originals and about 4 of the replacements, have both hand washed and machine washed, and usually hang-dry, although they've sometimes gotten mixed into the dryer load so have had heat. The original pad looks cleaner after washing then the replacements. What I'm not really sure of is if the original actually picked up as much dirt as the replacements, which could account for it appearing cleaner. Hmmm. The photos show the surged edge binding of the replacement vs the edge of the original which exposes more of the microfiber; the size difference; fit, and how they clean up. Their appearances are nearly identical. There are pros and cons to the steamer itself but that's for another review. I do like the steamer and wish the head were shaped to reach corners. Just know you can't get pads anywhere except ebay, as far as I can tell.

Pros
  • So far so good. Ive wash them several times and they look great
Cons
  • The pads tend to accumulate pet hair and fur, which may not come off easily
