I had high hopes for this but was disappointed. I was given a choice between this and the optima digital 1200, in the end I chose the Noco route due to the extra cables and the presence of a large number of batteries that required winter maintenance. If I only needed it for battery maintenance, my experience might be different. The Noco itself is very well made. Loved the fact that it comes with 4 cord extensions and is wall mountable. The operation went smoothly. I just wish it would charge things up the way it's intended. I could very well be the unlucky guy who had bad luck. I would have had no problem with the Noco block if I had had faith and guaranteed a working block out of the box. I don't think I got it and I wouldn't fully trust the replacement. My first task was to restore the red top of the Optima that had been in the car in the garage all winter. There is a small voltage leak somewhere in the car, so it is not often necessary to charge the battery at the beginning of the season. I could use it to charge the battery and start cycling. It should be around 75% before a battery error is displayed. It sucks, but okay, the battery is dead. We'll get to that in a moment. The next task was to charge the battery of my motorcycle. This one was already charged with a cheap Walmart charger, but with the battery optimization I wanted to see what it would do. I put the battery in and charged it beyond what the charger indicated, so I thought. Steady green light, start riding your bike one day. This bike doesn't have fuel injection, so you have to twist the throttle a bit to tip over. I managed to get it starting within 10-15 seconds, it usually takes about 30 seconds for a cold start, but before I could hit the battery started clicking. Was low again. This baffled me because in the past if I put it on the Noco it could crank for a few minutes if needed. I could run this in the dead of winter in 0 degrees before the battery gave up. Thinking by coincidence I started putting it back on the charger over and over for a few days but couldn't get it to start long enough and it started again with no problems before I bought the Noco thanks to the great price reinstated charger from Walmart. At the same time, I also charged the ATV and lawn mower to complement them. The lawn mower started with no problems. The quad has been cranking for quite a while, but it's an 84+ and it's normal to crank without starting for a long time. To see if there was a problem with the bike here, I didn't do my usual liquid starting aid and it actually cranked for quite a while, as I would normally expect. I contacted Noco support about this. Was unprepared for the amount of questions they asked, they really wanted to know the make and model of the battery and the voltage reading on the voltmeter, but they ended up telling me I could do it if I didn't think it was right it works guarantee. Then they will test and replace as their tests say. Having just bought it from Revain I decided to trade it in. I have an Optima Digital 1200 instead and the first day of charging seems to work amazingly.
