Review on CRST Heavy Duty Surge Protector Power Strip: 12-Outlet, 15ft Cord, Wide Spaced, Mounting Brackets, 15A Breaker, 1800 Joules by Tommy Rao

When I received this I was thrilled it has all the features I need. long cable, power switch, large distance between sockets. but then 5 months later I go into my workshop and it's cold in there - the only thing plugged into it is a 1500 watt heater which I use to keep it from freezing there. When I check it, I find that the surge protector has blown, rendering the entire power strip unusable. Overvoltage protection does not reset. I can't figure out how a resistive heater can have a surge of current simply by turning the thermostat on and off. Now it's just junk. quite expensive paperweight.
