Quality Has Degraded

The quality of HyperDrive adapters has really deteriorated over the years. I had the original USB-C 7 port adapter which is still in great condition. I gifted this to a family member for their 2016 MacBook Pro 15" and only got compliments from them. Further on, the 2020 8-port adapter model started failing after a year. I am assuming this is a defect so I buy a new device as a replacement only to find out they sent me a used adapter. There were chips around the USB-C and HDMI ports as well as fingerprints. I'm really disappointed with the quality of the HyperDrive adapters and will look for another docking station elsewhere.
