I have to turn the device off and on again every time I start the car for it to connect. (And I did a reset, as I advise others.) In that regard, it's not much different than an external Bluetooth speaker that an iPhone can connect to. You must also enable the Bluetooth speaker option in Google Maps if you want audio route directions to be broadcast through the speakers. When I found out that Apple offers a $10 RCA to Lightning dongle that connects RCA cables to my iPhone, I find this device useless as I don't mind the cable coming off my phone runs to my center console bay. And with the cable I get all the sound. Maybe in the future I'll find another audio device that this device can be useful for.
