Well I'm a first-time cat owner and I've had so many things to figure out and I'm on a steep learning curve, but here's what I know: cats seem in contrast to Not wanting to wear a collar on a dog. But this one is unlike any other. I bought a decent collar when we first found Walter just so people will know that when he comes out he will be heard and loved. But he will try to get rid of it. And did. But the Beastie Band, oh, that's another story! Designed entirely for cats. It's a very soft neoprene (think wetsuits or flimsy beer can insulators) with a very easy velcro closure to allow your cat to get out and avoid hanging himself if need be. But it's VERY easy, and after a few hesitant attempts to figure it out, Walter decided it wasn't worth the trouble. He's been very quiet for a few weeks. And it looks cool/cute. I bought a second one as a spare just in case. Very, very satisfied.
