Replaced worn out, non-working and most likely original shock absorbers on my recently purchased 1990 Isuzu Amigo 4x4 with 116,000 miles. Since it's high enough off the ground, didn't I want or need to pick it up and spend more coins unnecessarily? It's just a carriage and didn't need to be powered up, so I chose a name that the industry trusts. In connection with replacing shocks, I upgraded the anti-roll bar bushings to polymer bushings, so the difference in handling is obvious. The car drives better, the handling is much better and the response is quicker. I just wanted a useful shock that wouldn't break the bank but did a good job and these Gabriels were exactly what I wanted. In my opinion, if you're not looking for top performance, toss a coin on popular brand parts, but if you want something that runs well and runs smooth, go for them! I don't ride the Rubicon trail, I don't crawl over rocks, I don't shake mud, I just ride from point A to point B.
