I bought these to replace the exact same model pump I had in my downstairs air conditioner. The original lasted 13 years so I figured it would be a replacement. It was. These condensate pumps are not rocket science in the sense that they move water from one place to another. I was more interested in ease of installation and reliability. So here I am after 2 months. The pump took 5 minutes to install and has been working flawlessly ever since. Very quiet. I assume it will work in all applications, not just as a replacement for the exact same model. Basically all you need is a 3-pin socket and a few wires from your air conditioner, which anyone can do. Directions are ok. I suppose you could run it just with the power cord and let the float do its job, but if for some reason it overflows you'll end up burning the pump. Who really cares because it's cheap and if it overflows you're likely to notice or run into bigger problems than a condensate pump.
