my husband loves this belt. A close friend recommended it and he hasn't worn any other belt since he got it. We've ordered a backup in case something happens to his first. We've already bought one for each of his two close friends. Next we are buying one for my father (his father-in-law). So yes, we highly recommend it! I don't know why other straps don't work with a ratchet, but apparently this is the way to go. BTW, my husband has XL pants, but I bought the largest because he could cut them down if necessary.
