Review on 📚 Ranger RGRMDJ.61106 DWakley Media Journal 6x6 White, No Modifications by Angela Rodriguez

I'm an art journal in every old sketchbook or junk mail catalog so I was very skeptical of a book specifically for painting to buy but OMG! The paper in this book was made in heaven - it will hold up to whatever wet materials I throw at it and won't warp or warp. Pages takes drywall like a champ, then acrylic paint, water-based staining with soluble crayons, collage on gel medium, spray ink, and repeated, intense stencil rubdowns with baby wipes—this paper can take it! It's also sooo thick - if the cardstock was watercolor paper - that the pages won't stick together* and turn the pages easily. I am very impressed. I'm not a big fan of cases as I tend to destroy them, but this white case, which also works for media, is a nice touch. I just have to 'plan' mine so that it looks sloppy from the start because sooner or later I'm going to put it on something wet. The binding is too stiff to lay completely flat, but I slowly slide it back to dampen it. . Square shape is very convenient for operation; Each page is a single whole, but working on the double-page spread gives all that lovely squareness for creating panoramas. My brush gives off steam when it runs the FOOTIN across the paper! Delicious. The only downside I've seen so far is that I've had it for a couple of weeks now and I'm already halfway through the pages - and that's while I'm working on two other magazines at the same time - so if I keep buying these I'll be buying them SHOT! But if they had more sides, they would be very thick and probably wouldn't lay flat when opened, so I understand there are limitations here.* Okay. I actually tried to glue two pages together and succeeded, but it wasn't easy, y'all; what I do for art.
