Review on πŸ“Ÿ TEEMI Wireless Barcode Scanner: 1D Laser Rechargeable Handheld Reader for PC/Mac/Linux, Plug and Play (No Stand) by James Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great value for the price, even better customer service.

This scanner works quite well, although there is sometimes a delay of a few seconds between the time it scans and the computer receives it (at least when using a wireless network). It is nothing that is not suitable for light use, especially given the very reasonable price. My biggest concern is that the scanner draws too much power via USB. When plugged into my MacBook Pro, the cable became very hot for just a few seconds where it connected to the scanner and the unit started smelling like it was burned. (I've only done this once and the device still seems to work fine, but for now I just use the included power adapter to charge it and always scan wirelessly.) My Mac also warned me that the device was drawing too much power . So it could cut power and that saved it from frying, but I don't think it's USB-connected to a modern computer with high-current USB ports. UPDATE: Shortly after writing this review I was contacted by TEEMI who kindly offered to send me a new scanner to fix an issue with my old one. First class customer service! The new device does not have the same USB problem, so now full 5 stars! Thank you Teemi!

I didn't expect much for the price, under $50 ...
