Review on HP EliteDisplay 27 Inch Monitor 1FH52A8 ABA - 2560X1440 Resolution, Integrated USB Hub, ‎5QG34A8#ABA, LCD by Timothy Adams

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Type-C, backlit backlight, average build quality

Since HP isn't entirely clear, I'd like to confirm that the Type-C port acts as a video input in addition to USB. A total of 3 digital video inputs (and one VGA). However, HP does not include a Type-C to Type-C cable, only a Type-C to Type-A cable that cannot transfer video. By the way, the Type-C cable supplied by HP is defective on my device. Connecting a monitor hub to a PC with this cable will result in POST hang and "Device Handle Request Failed" errors in Windows Device Manager. I haven't noticed a single problem with my Type-C to Type-C (Apple) cable. This monitor should have a totally unacceptable level of backlight blur, but that's the new normal. I wasn't expecting anything other than the startling uniformity of the black screen, but again, there are no pleasant surprises. AG coating is MINIMUM. The body is made entirely of plastic. My bottom has ripples and a gap between it and the screen. The leg is also plastic, but the vertical part of the stand is made of aluminum, reminiscent of the stands Dell put on its U2711-era monitors. Good thing even Dell has switched to plastic racks. Next to the Elitebook x360 1030 G2, the E273q is a little disappointing with its all-aluminum body and incredibly perfect fit and finish.
