Review on HP EliteDisplay 27 Inch Monitor 1FH52A8 ABA - 2560X1440 Resolution, Integrated USB Hub, ‎5QG34A8#ABA, LCD by Darryl Mitchell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing: nice design and all sorts of features, another winner from HP

I had to buy a second one after my positive experience with the first one. First, my only complaint is the name. HP e273 (not this one) is an older monitor with a lower resolution of 1920x1080. This is the e273q model with a higher resolution of 2560x1440. Big big difference but similar names, same physical size, almost the same looks. This is a setup that I'm sure will create confusion and make people buy the wrong one because it's cheaper. Everything is great except for the name. I use HDMI, but I also have USB-C, Displayport, and VGA ports. It comes with many different quality cables, including two different types of Displayport. I use the included USB-C to create a mini USB hub, but the included high quality USB-C to A cable is $10 and has many other uses if you don't want your monitor is a USB hub. The monitor has an integrated night mode for blue light reduction. I started with this and just cranked up the blue light canceller, which allowed me to save it as an additional preset. Much better than using the version of the software called f.lux which had few bugs. The front panel buttons allow you to quickly switch between modes. The bezel is as small as I've seen on monitors of this size and resolution. Personally, it has a very premium look. The stand is well thought out, you can put things on it as it is perfectly flat. It swivels easily for portrait mode and also tilts and raises and lowers easily. This is now my main PC monitor at home. Right next to it is another HP monitor, released in 2006, with a backlight life of 9988 hours (about 780 hours per year x 12 years) and still working perfectly, both LCD and stand. I've had many other HP monitors in my office over the years, and that's okay: they never seem to die. Finally, this monitor is pretty thin and even looks good from the back. The basic specs and probably even the same LCD panel inside are about $40 cheaper. I don't think you will regret paying a little more for it. If it lasts 14 years, that's less than an extra cent a day for a product that looks better and has lots of little useful extras.
