This is a great popcorn maker. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I recommend getting a can of coconut oil from your local grocery store, otherwise nothing will work. I've tried four different types of oils or fats, including butter, which btw burns too easily. Coconut oil works surprisingly well. I also found that Pop Secret cores explode much better than Orville Redenbacher cores. The only thing I recommend is changing the suggested order. The manual tells you to turn on the heat lamp, add your choice of oil to the pan, turn on the heat and wait for steam, then add the seeds and turn on the stirrer. I followed this instruction and burned oil at a spot where it was sitting. My solution was simple: turn on the heat lamp, add your choice of oil to the pan, turn on the stirrer, then heat up once you have steam, add your kernels and viola, no burns. Really great machine for popcorn lovers at home.
