Only the three types I bought leave fibers on my machine when I wipe them down.

They leave fine fibers on my black car. I use another microfiber cloth to remove the fibers. I washed once so I wash it again to see if they stop shedding before sending them in garage rags that aren't car detailing. In general, it's not scary, but fibers throughout the machine are not needed. They dry well and are very color sensitive, so that's a plus.
