If you need an antenna this antenna will fit your YJ jeep and looks good but that's it. From the moment I installed it I had exactly ZERO reception. When I removed the head unit from the side of the head unit, the center conductor in the head unit broke (and I was very careful when removing it). I had to cut the cable, connect it and solder it together with the extension cable I bought as the cable is not shown in the picture for this antenna. I thought I was hearing the stations but still ZERO reception. I removed the side of the antenna and didn't notice any difference between a connected or unconnected antenna. As I looked at the connector that plugs into the base of the antenna, I noticed that it was very loose and made no contact with the antenna at all. When I tried to adjust the center section of the cable, I found that it was made just as cheaply as the side of the main unit (slightly pulled away from the center conductor). I have a $29 piece of junk on my garage floor now and tomorrow I'm going to the junkyard to find a working replacement.
