If you need an antenna this antenna will fit your YJ jeep and looks good but that's it. From the moment I installed it I had exactly ZERO reception. When I removed the head unit from the side of the head unit, the center conductor in the head unit broke (and I was very careful when removing it). I had to cut the cable, connect it and solder it together with the extension cable I bought as the cable is not shown in the picture for this antenna. This did not directly replace the original antenna in my '88 Jeep Wrangler. But my research shows that AMC used different antennas and a replica of my original is probably not available anywhere.
