Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Anycubic Intelligent Leveling Screen: Achieve Precise, Effortless Printing by Adam Walsh

Great printer with a few small issues that can be fixed.

I just received this printer and I am very happy with it. It seems to be built quite well. You need to assemble the hoop around the base and install some connectors and the instructions are fine for that. Clearly translated from Chinese but still ok. First, there are two reasons I deducted a star. First I downloaded the filament they give you and found the first problem: the nozzle was clogged and the PLA didn't come out when I manually fed it. I took it apart and found it was full of red PLA and since they gave me the blue one I knew it wasn't my fault. The good news is they give you some wrenches to disassemble and even a spare hot end if you need it. So that's very positive. UPDATE: I've had this printer for a little over a month now. I would say that my assessment is still correct. It's a good printer if you want to tweak it a bit, but it needs some tweaking. The bottom of my bed was uneven so it was difficult to level the top of the bed but I bent it to fix it. Then I had to adjust the Z-level a bit depending on the material to be printed. It also seems to drip a little more when the head is moved than my other printer. I added LED lighting at the top which should be there anyway. It's still a reasonable buy for the price, but I've seen the price go up lately. Also, the firmware definitely needs some simple usability updates like one touch head up, one touch heater off. The second problem was the filament error sensor. It's a nice feature and the printer can continue when the filament runs out, but the sensor isn't actually attached to anything. The manual shows it connected to the spool holder, but it doesn't really work there. I'll take care of it, but remember it will take some time. Not bad, but it would be nice if THEY sorted it out for you. The final negative is the firmware and please note that I have NOT UPDATED it to allow these issues to be addressed. The controller is colored and has a touchscreen, which is nice, but some options seem to be missing, like an easy way to turn off the heaters and a way to push some plastic out of the panel. The auto level is pretty basic. You turn the thumbscrews until it beeps for each corner. Fast and easy. So for the price I'm very happy with this printer. Quality control and instructions could be better, but overall you can't go wrong with this printer.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
