Bought these Pearington folding tables because of the low price to get two tables and had to honor the old principle: you get what you get. Per. There was already a slightly smaller collapsible tray that had the wood grain veneer peeling away from the compressed wood underneath. Pearington's description is of solid pine, but as another customer has pointed out, the tables that have survived are mostly compressed wood tops with solid wood legs. I can confirm as I have it. The tables seem strong enough. They're still useful, especially in a household with a lot of traffic and family members who tend to be tough on furniture. Would buy them again.
