Review on 🌈 Vibrant Neon Delight: Explore DMC Prism Thread Packs! by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

DMC is definitely NOT!

I bought a six strand pack of this thread because it would be foolish to mix the 8 colors needed for my project available to order at Hershnerr's. The fee for each skein of DMC floss is only 44 cents, regardless of color. However, the additional shipping cost would have roughly tripled my cost of DMC floss. Unlike many others, I don't have the opportunity to buy embroidery floss from local stores like many other craft supplies. There is either no such thing or the selection is very poor. Neutral: This floss does not meet DMC standards, but neither does DMC prices. At the price I paid for this item, my cost is about 12 cents per ball. Sometimes you get what you pay for. The strands are about 8 meters long, like the DMC strands. I was expecting more colors with no duplicates, but in my pack most colors come with two or even three skeins. The included 12 cardboard spools are enough to take up filament for one project. Cons: Looking at some DMC thread I bought for another project, I found that the six threads you get when this thread splits are thinner than the threads of the DMC thread. . thin enough that you might want to use three strands of this if the instructions for your project call for two strands of DMC. Another reviewer mentioned that the quality of these skeins makes them unsuitable for mixing this yarn and DMC in the same project. I agree; However, under no circumstances would I mix two different brands of floss in the same project. As other reviewers point out, these colors don't have names or numbers, making it difficult to pick the exact colors if you're trying to use DMC numbers or color names. You can find colors in dark, medium, and light shades anywhere near those listed in the DMC project instructions, so all is not lost if you try to use this thread. Pros: While this thread isn't as brilliant as DMC, it's not exactly boring as another reviewer claimed. It has its own subtle sheen. As another reviewer said, it's not all in one thick thread either. It will split into six strands, as the label claims, and will do so without much difficulty. However, it's a decent alternative for smaller projects as long as you only use that thread for the entire project. When performing crafts other than embroidery, such as B. friendship bracelets, this is a worthy alternative for other uses, at about 1/3 the cost of DMC floss. Recommended for friendship bracelets and other crafts for kids, for those just learning to embroider. , or if you're desperate for a small number of multiple colors for a single (small) embroidery project, to the point where shipping would cost more than your floss if bought from Hershnerr's
