Review on Flexzilla Retractable Enclosed Lightweight ZillaGreen by Charles Collier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good repair for a home garage.

This is the first retractable air hose I've bought for my garage. I've used a smaller wheeled air compressor and just manually wrapped a hose around it when I've finished my job for the last ten years. I wish I had bought one sooner! I've gotten pretty tidy lately and it takes up minimal space next to my air compressor and under some shelves. I have free access to my entire 22x22ft 2 car garage. The hose is excellent and retains its flexibility over a range of temperatures. It gets pretty cold in the winter where I live and my garage isn't insulated. The stock plastic hose that came with my 10 year old Craftsman air compressor was starting to show its age and became very stubborn and difficult to use when temperatures dropped below 60 or so. It's dropped below zero a few times and I've had no trouble deflating my car tires etc. It's got a slightly lower max rating, 150psi, but I don't plan on using it for anything that high. Print. I'm deducting a star because I have a phantom air leak somewhere in the mechanism. I did a bubble leak test on both ends and couldn't find any leaks there, but when it's hooked up to my air compressor I lose about 10psi in a week. When switched off, the air compressor maintains the pressure. A minor inconvenience is having to disconnect the coil instead of taking it apart and trying to find a small leak.

Pros
  • 150 PSI - Maximum working pressure at 70 degrees Fahrenheit
Cons
  • Hardware
