This started out as a test project in case I couldn't fit dogs in the truck. but I love it so much I will be leaving a cover for dogs in the Model Y and providing cargo area protection for anything I take in there. Side protection deserves special attention as the sides rise very high. The side length is also ideal, as it leaves enough space to reach small side storage compartments. The underside then continues to cover the top of the bumper and can be quickly folded back when the dogs return there, or tucked in if a neater look is desired. The lid does not interfere at all with access to the trunk. I used self-adhesive velcro which looks nice when you remove the case. The cover behind the seats slides high enough to protect everything but the back of the headrests. You can still easily reach the buttons to fold the seats, but first you have to unbuckle the seat belts. which is also very straight forward. As an extra precaution against leaks or other accidents I left a tesmanian cargo area skid plate underneath. but I really like it and I recommend this cover!
