DVI-D and HDMI are almost the same, but as we know, HDMI is a newer and improved type. The adapters ALL worked well and with good picture quality. Good solid construction. I agree with most others, the screws are VERY difficult to tighten - they are small in diameter. Warning: The new HDMI sources are copy protected and NOT compatible with monitors/TVs that do not support it. I tried my smartphone (with copy protection) with DVI-D monitors that did NOT support it. Monitors responded to HDMI input but no screen. Please make sure your HDMI output is supported by your DVI-D monitor/TV before purchasing. This problem can make it appear as if the adapters are bad, when in fact they are fine. I'm glad all my old monitors with DVI-D input are now HDMI capable (no copy protection). :-)
