Review on 🏠 M D Building Products 69554 U-Shaped Weatherstrip Door Seal by Bryan Gilliam

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My package came with no screws and was open but that didn't stop me

Before reading the reviews I had no idea this came with screws. Spring. I have screws. I also knew my old house would probably require me to trim it, I had to shave about 1/8 inch and on the curved lip another 1/2 inch on each side of the curve. To be honest I've never had a door seal, I've lived with a door for over 10 years that had a 1/4 inch gap at the bottom letting in wind, dirt and water hoses. I have an old wooden front door, I don't think it ever had anything to protect it from bad weather. I live in Southern California so the weather has never been bad enough to warrant 1/4 inch airflow outside and we don't have mice here. However, I do have a hacksaw, a few extra screws, a pair of scissors and handyman skills for all trades. I also have some good oil bronze paint to touch up and a few files. I was able to get this project done quickly and it fit in with no problem at the top which has another 1/4" open airflow. To be honest I don't really care about the top. I can feel the new sill and the new one Door closer seal not believe it looks like I have a real door now not a rag tired bald shutters found the weatherstrip likes to slide away so I ended up putting some silicone on the rail to act effectively as a stop and they let it cure overnight. My house is moving forward d, piece by piece. Installation takes literally no time, even with some measuring, cutting, filing, adjusting and finding the right colored screws and touching up paint for the occasional saw mark and Edges. I think this will do a much better job of preventing debris from getting in in Santa Ana winds and less water spraying. I'm not overly picky or picky, but this looks very professional and offers a fantastic bang for your buck. 11 dollars! WOW!
