The key works at the most basic level, but not very well. Let's start with the fact that it doesn't fit completely inside the phone. I have an iPhone XR and thought maybe it was jamming the case so I removed the case and tried it but it still clicked and some of the actual metal that is normally visible is sticking out. This makes it very easy to turn off the phone if you rotate the phone too quickly or if there is pressure on the cord. The second problem is the sound quality. For some reason this button has a lot of AKA white noise at low levels behind every sound you play. It doesn't render them totally useless as usually what you hear is loud enough to ignore but as an audio engineer and my real job is audio it's like torture to my ears lol. I do not recommend buying this.
