It provides very efficient tools to solve complex data science problems. The UI is easy to use, but also allows for advanced users with programming experience to do powerful things without having too much hassle. I have been using it in my academic life as well as at work. If you are looking for something that will help you perform statistical analysis of your data efficiently and at scale then this product has got all that. As far as free version goes - if you can afford paying for such an expensive tool there's not really anything else out there which would give you similar benefit. We used it mostly for predictive modelling (using regression techniques). Also we had some customised scripts written on top of Python/R.
