Review on Canon 8 2MP Digital Camera Body by Ricardo Tlaxcalteca

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Two words - "Ah " - "Mazing "

Okay, I cheated. But this camera is really AMAZING! I giggled for quite a while before pulling the trigger. Spring. I think I just removed my Nikon F4s. And I LOVE this camera! I got it just before my son appeared in A Midsummer Night's Dream. This isn't my first digital camera, but I've NEVER, EVER, EVER taken it to an event like this. They rarely (read: never) fail in low light, and I NEVER had a usable picture of the scene. With all the good things I've read about the 30D, I took a chance and put it into play. And only. I made more than 70 recordings and was amazed at how good they all turned out. The cast loved it. They hired a photographer, but he only did "composite" photos/portraits. Nothing while the show was on. Just great. The following weekend I took it out and walked over it. I can't forget how many "guardians" I had. And the level of control is nothing short of breathtaking. I'm a control freak when it comes to photography and the 30D has it in abundance. All in all I don't think there is a better camera in this class. I would even say I prefer it to 5D! (That's why I bought it in the first place.) You really should try your best to get more 1Ds Mark II for everyone. For reference, the lenses I bought were pretty good too. I received EF-S 10-22. Without the "S" it would probably be an "L" lens. I also used the EF 24-70 2.8L as my main lens. That's how I shot the piece. Great lens. Finally I picked up the EF 70-200 2.8L and what a beauty it is. I agree with the previous post. Even if you have to eat ramen for a month: Go for it! Best money I've spent in a long time.
