I have arthritis in my hands and this battery operated pepper mill is just what I need! This device has saved my thumb joints from pain. It's very affordable and easy to use. Although it is a bit noisy, everyone gets excited when they use it for the first time. It even has a backlight that illuminates your dish so you can see how much pepper you're adding by candlelight. There are two aspects that could be improved: 1) the capacity of the pepper jar and 2) the ease of adding more pepper. As you can see from the photo, the grinder and batteries (above the tank) take up most of its height. However, it has a nice shape and feels good in the hand. With sore hands, I found it difficult to open the filling tank. Now my husband is doing the work, but at least I can grind my own peppers! That's really a great price. I've seen similar devices at kitchen stores for $80. I paid $17 for it.
