I just received it today. I spent 30 minutes setting this up. It just doesn't detect any signal from my router. Because of this I used an ethernet cable to set it up, but when I moved the extension cord there was no connection. If you are buying this to use as an extension cord and not using a computer I would stay away from this unit. I'll contact support on Monday and see how far we get. I've followed all the instructions and I have to say I've never endured a product that asked me for a password so many times. First, they force you to register with tplink. Second, when trying to connect, you need to set a different password. 3. When you get the app, they force you to sign up for their cloud network - and yes - another password. Fourth, once I finally got the extender visible to my phone by manually resetting the extender, you guessed it, another passcode and confirmation was required. I'm guessing this thing is made by a company whose right hand doesn't know what their left hand is doing. lol. That's all.
