I bought two of these for an elderly parent who had trouble seeing or interpreting the small letters on the remote control. I used the learn feature to control the TV using the power and volume buttons and also set up channels to control the cable box. Programming was a little fiddly, mostly because the first remote I got didn't come with any instructions. . When I found her here, everything was fine. He completely coped with his task and solved the problems with using the TV. So I ordered a second one for another TV and this one came with instructions. Based on other reviews, we taped over the programming keys and enter key so they can't be accidentally pressed.
