Review on FS3/4H Onsite Pro Washing Machine FloodStop with Straight Valves by Chris Meckler

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Extremely bad quality!

After reading several negative (even three star) reviews that complained about the quality, I bought the product despite the warnings. I should never have done it! There was a wire straight out of the box that pulled out of a crimped connector. This is the wire needed to attach the water detection plate to the control box. This could be fixed, but I decided to test the valve blocks before installing them. When I connected the valve blocks to the control block and pressed "OPEN" both blocks opened normally. When I tried to close the modules, one closed and the other didn't. I swapped the wires and the one that opened and closed normally still worked while the other still stayed open. Next, I found that the threaded fitting on one valve would not spin freely (it was sticking to the valve body) and the fitting had to be rotated to secure it to the threaded portion of your water supply. Without the ability to rotate freely, the entire valve block would have to rotate back and forth to connect to the water supply. I didn't think of that. I was able to test a valve and the water detection plate. If you watch a video/advertisement on YouTube where the company's founder shows a device that runs on just a tiny drop, you will think that's how the device is supposed to work. Not so. It's taken a little more water - which would probably be fine in the event of a flood - but it's certainly not as advertised. Everything related to wiring is very cheap. For something that might need to be pulled through vents or behind a washing machine, you'd think the company would make the wiring a bit thicker. I never write reviews but I felt that this product was so poorly made that I thought I'd give it a try to save someone else the trouble I was in.

Pros
  • Automatically shuts off the water supply to the washing machine when a leak is detected
Cons
  • boring packaging
