In my case I needed to fit two SSDs into a 3.5" drive bay of a small server. The SATA and power cables are already included and come from the RAID controller. With this adapter, two SSDs are too close together to use the existing (combo) SATA/power connectors. In a more typical configuration, where you can use the cables provided, this does not present a problem. Another problem I encountered was with two SSDs installed and when the entire assembly snapped into the Dell drive carrier, the carrier was uneven due to the bent adapter. With a regular 3.5" drive in the bracket, everything is fine. With this in the holder, it is not straight and will not slip into the compartment. In general, this adapter has its uses and works in some scenarios, but it is not a universal adapter.
