Thanks everyone for the guide, especially Andrey Rykiel! It took us some time to prepare for this with many steps and tools needed to get our hands on it. We had two painters and a sprinkler; Materials we used: * cement plaster to cover some cracks (not big parting lines, they should be left to allow the cement floor to expand/shrink) * cheapest 5 gallon bucket * good sized brush (for cleaning the garage with degreaser / etcher) * a water hose for the garage wash (a mop can help, but we got by without it) * two stacks of quality rollers + a good roller base each and a long screw handle * two cheap paint trays * some crayons (free at the Home Depot paint counter) * FrogTape (to protect the walls around the garage) * some wide brushes (to detail the side edge of the garage with epoxy) * a clean container of parmesan cheese to sprinkle on * gloves and a respirator for everyone (most won't like, but epoxy is tough on the lungs! some in) *bring your garage key/water *keep the trash bag out (when you're done, you put anything used/disposable right in there) The kit contains two large metal cans of epoxy mix and two smaller cans of activator. They cleaned the garage, cleaned the floor with degreaser and caustic, gave it a good wash, let it dry, puttyed any random cracks. I taped the entire perimeter with paper tape at the junction of the edge of the wall to the floor. On Day X we used a 5 gallon bucket to first mix both epoxy bases together for an even color and then spread the even mixture between the two containers. Since we had two painters, we added an activator to each of the bases, stirred and waited a little according to the instructions. Then the three of us attacked the garage. First we went around the perimeter and covered the border with a brush. Then pour the epoxy into two paint cans, one person rolls on each side in small batches, starting at the far end of the garage, backwards toward the garage door (slightly cracked for circulation); I sprinkled the freshly painted areas. We worked pretty fast. We exited the garage (brought a garage opener) and when everything was covered we put all the disposables in a large garbage bag and tossed it in the bin so we could walk around the house clean and ready. We used it for our smooth, fairly new cement garage floor in a 2.5 car garage. The mix was enough, but in moderation. Someone here recommended using a container of parmesan cheese as a topping - great idea. A large amount of splashes created a lot of friction on the ground to prevent slipping. We live in Wilmington, NC (high humidity) and did our garage in May 2017 and parked outside for about two weeks. Since then we haven't had any problems with epoxy damage (no cracking, no hot tire sticking, etc.). Paul looks great!
