I'm considering a USB 7.1 audio adapter. It was worth the price. I've been using it for 2 years now. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and encountered the same problem as some of you. 5.1 surround sound is not output. After fiddling with the settings I finally got it working. For those who haven't figured it out yet, here's what worked for me. Right-click the sound icon [the default sound icon in the taskbar] and select Playback Devices. Then right-click "USB Multi-channel Audio Deviceโ in the list and select "Configure Speakersโ. Just make sure the speaker configuration is correct [Stereo, 5.1 or 7.1]. This should [hopefully] work.
