Works great! I have Windows 7 64-bit, I plugged it into one of my 3.0 USB hubs and plug-n-play did the rest. I didn't use the CD that came with it. I had to replace the stock speakers in a couple of places so be sure to check them out. I have Altec 5.1 surround sound computer speakers that I bought years ago and they are fantastic! I read the reviews from people who had problems and it worried me a little but I'm very glad I bought it anyway. I'm sorry for the people who can't make it work.

I think it's for laptops that don't have a sound card. I bought it to connect a couple of stereo mic inputs to my laptop via USB instead of the crappy mic jack that comes standard.
