The insole is subtle enough with just the right amount of flexibility and cushioning. Arch support is minimal but not absent. The problem is that the straps don't have pads like the more expensive brands and can cut and scrape into your foot. They are suitable for occasional use, such as running errands in the car. But for physical activity that requires more walking/hiking, they don't work. I found the Camel Crown brand to be a good alternative to the more expensive mid-range brands.
