Perfect fit I bought this to replace the Kohler seat that came with our new chair height toilet ( this seat was sooooo uncomfortable) and since we have used this brand before I gave it a try. It was very easy to install. More on this. It's worth noting that the attachment system doesn't allow the seat to be easily detached for cleaning, but to be honest I never used this feature on our old seat because it was easy to clean anyway. Assembly. It was really easy. Don't be afraid to touch the hinges so they sit flat on the toilet's china. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. You will insert a metal screw and then a small white plastic nut... then INSTALL FROM THE TOP. The hinges were tight and I had to work very hard to get them to lay flat and then the mounting holes on the toilet itself were tight when I put the round plastic piece in, but it was easy enough! I'm sure some people will think something is wrong because it doesn't come pre-packaged to sit flush with the toilet and because you have to push the plastic top into the mounting holes pretty hard, but IT WAS NOT DIFFICULT . Once I had it laid flat and aligned the way I wanted it, I tightened the bottom nut with my fingers and then used a socket wrench to tighten it all the way. You don't need a socket wrench, but it's easier. Once tightened enough, the little plastic indicator on the bottom nut broke off and that was it. THIS THING WILL NOT COMBINE. Looks great. It's a thick seat and the slow close feature works great. The main thing is that it's GOOD. The chrome hinges are bigger than I thought they would be but they look BETTER than what I saw in the photo. The seat looks good and is well made. Much nicer than the Kohler lid that came with our toilet. A few tips/info: 1) If you are finger tightening the bolt after the initial tightening, have someone hold the seat while you do so to keep it from moving 2) Read and FOLLOW the instructions. 3) Read the instructions. 4) Did I mention that you should read and follow the instructions? It annoys me when people complain about the complexity of the installation, but it's clear they haven't read. It was easy. 5) To that end, I am a 47-year-old female and enjoy doing these little things around the house. The only thing I asked my husband to do on this occasion was hold the seat while I tightened the nut because he was the next person available. If my dog had opposable thumbs he could help me install this seat, it was that easy! :)
