These displays are as described but specified to operate at 3.3 volts. That's true, but the contrast and brightness of the display at 3.3 volts leaves a lot to be desired! At the specified 5 volts they are perfect! The input still operates at 3.3 volts at 5 volts. I'm using EXP8266 and the Arduino IDE has an LCD display library that works great with this thing! Works great, easy to use.
