Reliable but a little dazzling

They are very well made - I accidentally dropped one on a hard tiled floor and it still works great. The screens seem to have a bit more glare than the other 16x2s I've used in the past.

Neat display unit. Simple Arduino interface.

These displays are as described but specified to operate at 3.3 volts. That's true, but the contrast and brightness of the display at 3.3 volts leaves a lot to be desired! At the specified 5 volts they are perfect! The input still operates at 3.3 volts at 5 volts. I'm using EXP8266 and the Arduino IDE has an LCD display library that works great with this thing! Works great, easy to use.

Easy to use. The serial port is nice.

Just upload the required library to the Arduino IDE and this component is very easy to use. No problem doing it what I want. The software library could be better documented for a newbie (like me), but that's a problem for the software, not this component.

Don't trust the list, but okay.

After working all day I finally figured out why none of my displays are working! The listing states that address 0x27 should be used. That is not true. I had to use 0x3F to make it work! The documentation also doesn't specify which I2c library is running. I kept trying different ones. Maybe they all worked, I don't know which one I ended up with. Now that it works, it works great. An additional note: soldered the ds1307 directly to the rear pins, which fits nicely and saves space. I will buyโ€ฆ

Good Arduino displays, easy to use.

Great little gimmicks. They don't draw much power, in fact I connected power to the Arduino's output pin and can turn it on and off when I need to display something (for super low power consumption). If you're just writing text, the Arduino LiquidCrystal_I2C library has a minimal amount of code that works well. Don't forget that the small two-pin connector on the back requires a jumper (or resistor for dimming) for the display to work. The contrast control on the back optimizes the contrast ofโ€ฆ

Affordable, simple and easy to use

I've tried one so far and it works as advertised! Pros: The 2-pin I2C connection is much simpler than the alternatives you see using all sorts of cables. - The screen is bright and vivid. Ideal for simple menus or swipes. The control board is conveniently soldered to the display. Plug and play painless. Cons (sort of): - The wiki doesn't give any details about what library to use or where to download it from. It's called LiquidCrystal_I2C, but if you search for it, you'll get a bunch ofโ€ฆ

Easy to use, works great, but details matter!

I'm using this for a small project I'm working on. No complaints at all, but here are a few useful things to know: 1. The LiquidCrystal_I2C library available in the Arduino application is working fine. You don't need any of the version options. Just go to the library manager and search for LiquidCrystal I2C. Frank de Brabander's standard version works great. The warning "THIS LIBRARY MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH EXISTING SKETCHES" is probably true, but I had no problems. 2. Be sure to check theโ€ฆ
