Is more expensive than other bedding, but I think it's worth it. First, it stretches a lot - the bag isn't that big, but it bulges a lot. I bought this for a hamster cage (large tank I think 30 gallons). This bag has allowed me to fill a reservoir several inches deep 4 times (changed once a month). Plus, it does an excellent job of controlling odor. I was afraid it would have an unpleasant odor, but it doesn't. It has a mild, pleasant smell and does an excellent job of keeping hamster poo smelling to the point where I don't even notice the cage. The smell of the cage was one of the reasons I didn't want my daughter to have a hamster, but this stuff really helps with that. I don't know exactly how it works, but it works. Highly recommended. Third, it's also soft and not hard like chips. The hamster likes it very much, sometimes even makes its bed with it.
