Review on πŸš€ Boost Fuel Efficiency & Unlock Performance: Saturn S-Series 1.9L Power Programmer & Performance Chip by Josh Parson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This device does not meet the specified specifications. NO performance chips for car computers S. point.

I've only driven a Saturn S since 1992. I'm currently driving a 1997 SC2 with 265K. There are NO Performance Computer (PCM) chips in these Saturn S-Series vehicles. NOBODY. NOTA. NOTHING. GM didn't leave the PCM open for tuning. No one has ever cracked the code to unlock it and allow for customization. The air/fuel ratio in these vehicles is primarily controlled by an upstream oxygen sensor, a coolant temperature sensor, and a control of how long the fuel injectors remain open to deliver fuel. that's easy. The only way to "technically" increase gas mileage is for this device to add voltage to the upstream O2 sensor signal, causing the PCM to think the car is running rich (lots of fuel). The PCM, in turn, leans (less fuel) the air/fuel mixture by reducing the opening time of the fuel injector, which uses less fuel per unit time. This is conjecture on my part as the product description does not state HOW this product achieves the claimed profit. If this product "works" in this manner to increase fuel economy, it will definitely shorten the life of your engine (upper half) since it is widely believed in the Saturn community that running these engines on lean Oil normally leads to burned valves. You won't get any performance gain from this device because it can't communicate with the car's computer to change things like ignition timing or baseline air-fuel curves. Without them, you cannot change the engine's torque curve. Don't say you weren't warned.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others
