I haven't used many sockets to see if they stand up to widespread use, but the few I've used so far work as they should. This separates at least 2 sockets from the rest to allow the large plugs to fully connect. The other sockets are 5 on each side with a decent space in the middle of the base for possible larger plugs and also depending on how your plugs look when connected together. It definitely won't connect if you have 2 wide ports next to each other. Still early in use but so far so good.
