If you suffer from lymphedema and your ankles become painfully swollen, it can literally bring a person to tears. I've tried over 10 different types of compression stockings and they were either too tight or too small or too loose and so on. After spending a fortune on relief I bought a pair of these compression stockings and finally got rid of the pain and swelling. Don't be surprised when you take them out of the box. They look like golf club covers that don't cover your hand let alone your foot and ankle which are 3-4 times normal size. The socks are actually quite easy. I bought the "Large" and had no problem putting it on and lifting it above my ankle. After wearing them all day I had no pain from the socks and they didn't cut into my ankles like everyone else where the top sock band is. The "soft" compression worked great for me. After 2-3 days my ankles are back to their normal size and I am now wearing these socks to help control my lymphedema. The pain went away with the swelling and it cost me less than all the acetaminophen I was taking, which is also another health benefit. Toss them in the washing machine with cold water and they line dry quickly. I wouldn't risk putting them in the dryer. Again, it's a pity that only 5 stars are allowed.
