Does what it says under Fans and Cooling

I have an R9 280 with a bad fan that is rendering the card unusable. I was going to buy a new GPU but the prices are crazy right now. I have a brilliant idea to get this instead. For best results, you'll probably need to remove the stock cooler and cool the heatsink directly. I would recommend not looking at this one, if you have smaller ATX cases the gap is likely to be an issue. Pros: Amazing pace; at full load around 6570c, idle around 3540c (it's like ice for AMD GPUs). Cons: 1. Fans are SUPER noisy when connected to 12V. I connected my MB to control it with a fan control program, but since the program detects CPU temperature and not GPU temperature, it's not that useful. Small note but I wish they had made a fan adapter that plugs into the GPU instead of a Molex adapter so you can control the fans with the GPU software. The clearance is definitely not enough, there is also no support other than the screws you use to push it into the back, the cooler isn't that heavy but it certainly sags. 3. I wish the fan cables were longer - when you route it it dangles from fans and other components, upwards it touches the GPU. I wish the cables were long enough to clip to the side and possibly run through one of the cable management holes. Overall pretty good for $25 which saved me from buying a brand new GPU. Noise level aside, I think this will last longer than the stock fan.

Pros
  • Fans and Cooling
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
