I have used these plugs for about a year. Judge for yourself whether it can be used. In the summer of 2019 I opened 300ml tubes of silicone - one tube of black GE Silicone Two and clear GE Silicone One (smells like vinegar). I cut the applicator tip to have a hole about 5mm (3/16 inch). After using a small amount of each type, I fitted a yellow cap into each nozzle. in the nozzle hole. Silicone tubing with caps were stored indoors at room temperature. After five weeks I pulled the plugs out and found that about 30mm (1 1/4 inches) of silicone had cured in both tubes. I was able to easily pull the plugs out, remove the cured silicone and use both hoses. I capped and stored the vials as before. Eleven months later, in May 2020, I attempted to remove the plugs from the silicone tubing. Both hoses had a 75mm (3 inch) diameter hardened silicone stopper. With great difficulty I pulled out the silicone plug and connector and was able to use the silicone. Are these plugs for you? judge yourself.
