Their lining is so soft that my daughter was very warm in very cold times. My daughter is small for an almost 7 year old (just over 40 pounds and relatively short 42 inches give or take), other reviews said it needed more, but I went for a size 6-8, they fit perfectly. So I would say they run small as I would expect a 6-8 would normally be big for them but great quality and I would definitely buy more.
