No cooking level best for benchtop burners

Good things first: It heats up and doesn't overload my mini generator. Yes, you can boil water, make coffee, etc. So it meets that basic requirement. The bad: It cycles on and off, so there's no way to throttle the load or fine-tune the power to the simmer. I think if you're using something like cast iron you could let the thermal mass tweak the low setting to something useful, but it's pretty big for a camping cookware or french press coffee maker. This frees up the stove to make morning coffee while you make breakfast on a 2-burner stove or electric griddle, so it's not completely useless. It's just not perfect. Ugly: Mine had some cosmetic damage from landing on its side and having a tailgate or pallet fall on it. It still works and I've been partially reimbursed for damages but it happened so that's in my review.
