Ugh. It looked good at first, but shortly after assembly the top piece broke off as it was only supported by hollow plastic. My cats are medium sized. My roommates have the exact same scratching post from ANOTHER Amazon seller, they have had it for almost a year with overweight cats sitting on it and their tree has not broken. The one I received also had holes that were drilled incorrectly. a manufacturing defect, or I just ripped off a salesperson. Just save your money and buy the best scratching post. UPDATE: Two months of owning a scratching post and it completely collapsed. My friend has the same one made of WOOD. I have cheap thin cardboard or plastic. Don't buy a pet palace.
